METALLICA And LINKIN PARK Confirmed To Headline DOWNLOAD 2004
January 27, 2004The organizers of the U.K.'s Download Festival have confirmed that METALLICA and LINKIN PARK will headline this year's event. LINKIN PARK will top the bill at Donington on 5 June, while METALLICA will close the festivities the following day.
Due to the success of last year's debut Download Festival, Download will be going on the road and heading up to Scotland on June 2-3. Staged at the Glasgow Green, the Scottish two-day festival will see METALLICA performing on June 2 and LINKIN PARK the next day.
Donald McLeod, CPL Festival Director said, "I am delighted CPL, DFC and CCE have joined forces to create the perfect team to bring the Download Festival to Scotland. CPL has been at the forefront of the Scottish rock & metal scene for over a decade now and I feel that Download is the payback the very loyal rock community deserves. Download is the first dedicated rock event of its size this side of the border — a positive thing for Glasgow, a positive thing for Scotland as a whole. Long may it reign."
Tickets for Download 2004 go on sale Friday, January 30 from 9:00 a.m. through the usual outlets.
Donington ticket prices: £80 for the weekend (plus agent booking fees),£95 weekend and camping.
More acts will be announced shortly, with contracts in the final stages.
